❄️ Astronomical Winter has officially arrived here in Scituate! ❄️

The darkest stretch of the year is behind us, and starting this week, we slowly but surely begin gaining back daylight, just a little more sunshine each day.🌅

We’ll break down what astronomical winter really means, how long it lasts, and why the sun’s angle is finally on the upswing even as the cold tightens its grip. Spoiler alert: winter still has plenty to say.

🌬️ Wind is the headline this week, with blustery conditions making it feel even colder than it already is. Temperatures continue to trend well below average, reinforcing that true winter pattern across Southern New England.

🎄 Of course, we’ll zero in on the all-important Christmas Day forecast, what to expect if you’re traveling, heading out for a walk, or just trying to plan your holiday.

The good news? ⛅ No big storms on the horizon right now, a relatively quiet stretch on the precipitation front, even if it’s a cold and windy one.

⏳ Plus, we’ll answer a classic seasonal question: just how long does astronomical winter last anyway?

All that, and your full day-by-day weather preview for the week ahead, on Episode #224 of Obsessed with the Weather.

Bundle up, lean into the season, and let’s talk winter. 🌊❄️
